Transportation
While there isn't public transportation directly to the summit of Whiteface Mountain, you can drive via the Veterans' Memorial Highway. From Lake Placid, take NY-86 East towards Wilmington. Follow the signs for Whiteface Mountain and the Veterans' Memorial Highway. Parking is available at the summit (fee applies). Alternatively, during ski season, shuttle services may be available from Lake Placid to the base of the ski resort.
